Introduction

The IRCRA 4th Congress is the last congress of the association before the Olympics in Tokyo 2020. We wished to celebrate this event by organizing the congress in a famous place of mountaineering, Chamonix (France) in front of the Mont Blanc.

This congress will be an opportunity to share the state of art regarding the research in climbing with an inter-disciplinary approach (humanities, social sciences, life sciences, engineering, etc.). We chose to give great importance to poster sessions where most of the scientific work will be presented. For each scientific field, we will also award a prize for the best poster in partnership with our sponsors.

It will be also an opportunity to bridge the gap between scientists and coaches around the world. That's why we chose to organize the congress at the same time as the IFSC (International Federation of Sport Climbing) speed and lead World Cups. This is also why this congress will be supported and hosted by the IFSC and its representative Marco Scolaris. To bridge this gap, the "training day" will be organized on Saturday, July 14, 2018.

Registrations

2 registrations are proposed:

  • Registration for the 5 days of the congress (Thursday will be a rest day);
  • Registration for the only "training day".

The registration deadline is Midnight (GMT) on Friday 4th May. Beyond that, all rates will be increased.

Place

In partnership with the Ecole Nationale de Ski et d'Alpinisme (ENSA), all activities of the congress will be held on their premises: amphitheater for oral sessions, card room for poster sessions and coffee breaks, restaurant for lunches. In addition, for those who wish, student rooms can be booked in the hotel of the school.
